Honoring a “Local Champion of Environmental Education and Preservation”
Elachee Nature Science Center celebrates the recognition of its newly retired leader, Andrea Timpone, as she is named the Rotary Club of Gainesville’s Woman of the Year.
This high honor was bestowed at the Club’s annual banquet on June 21, 2021. Many of those in attendance also have deep ties to Elachee. Among them were a number of the Nature Center’s current and past Board of Trustees, volunteers and individuals who themselves, their children and grandchildren have benefited from exciting nature encounters via field trips, hikes in Chicopee Woods, public nature programs and its rich history the past four decades.
