Oct 1, 2022: Stars Over Elachee
October 1, 2022 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm
About this Astronomy Education Program
During this 2-hour program, an Elachee teaching naturalists will provide instruction for setting up and using a telescope. You will then embark on a guided tour of the night sky to see the first quarter moon and bright seasonal stars. This month, you should see Jupiter and Saturn! Most meaningful for adults and children aged 8 and older. Bring a flashlight and pencil.
NOTE: This program is weather-dependent. If skies are not clear enough for the telescope program, Elachee will instead conduct an indoor astronomy program in the STARLAB portable planetarium. Registered participants will be notified by email no later than noon, the Friday before the scheduled program.
Reserve a Telescope
ADMISSION/PROGRAM FEE: $30 Per Telescope (for up to 5 individuals from a single family or friend group)
Or, Bring Your Own Telescope*
ADMISSION/PROGRAM FEE: $15 Per Telescope (for up to 5 individuals from a single family or friend group)
*NOTE if you plan to bring your own telescope:
- Participants will need to know how to set up, use and manipulate their own telescopes if they participate in BYOT.
- Naturalists are only technically familiar with Elachee telescopes and are not guaranteed to have any knowledge of each individual type brought.
- Program is not intended to be a ‘how to use a telescope’ course, but an astronomy program. We are providing the low light pollution setting along with a guide for what can be seen.
Covid-19 Preparedness Policy: For the health of our community and to protect those most vulnerable in our lives, Elachee recommends that all visitors follow CDC guidance with regard to wearing masks.
