Elachee personnel are required to wear face coverings to every reasonable extent during the indoor portion of your program. If your group has additional COVID-19 requirements, please discuss with the registrar at the time of booking.

PROGRAM FORMATS AND RATES

2-Hour Field Trip Program

Teachers’ MOST Popular Choice!

RATES: $12 Per Student, No Charge for Teacher(s) – Requires a $175 Minimum – $5 Per Adult Chaperone (Limit 1 Adult Chaperone Per Class)

DESCRIPTION: Enjoy a classroom presentation at Elachee Nature Science Center and a hike in the Chicopee Woods Nature Preserve.

Or, depending on the program, choose an outdoor program.

IF NEEDED, Reserve Picnic Areas for Your Group
When you visit Elachee for a field trip, your group may bring sack lunches and use a picnic area after your scheduled program. On your Elachee Program Scheduling Request, remember to reserve a picnic area for lunch.
Elachee does not provide food or beverages. Groups must remove their trash – Pack It In. Pack It Out. Leave No Trace.

3-Hour Field Trip Program

Ideal for more intensive topic explorations.

RATES: $16 Per Student, No Charge for Teacher(s) – Requires a $250 Minimum – $5 Per Adult Chaperone (Limit 1 Adult Chaperone Per Class)

DESCRIPTION: Enjoy an extended classroom presentation at Elachee Nature Science Center and a hike in the Chicopee Woods Nature Preserve.

Other options, depending on the program, include an outdoor program or a combination of two (2) classroom presentations and a hike.

4-Hour Field Trip Program

Best of both worlds, two programs in one.

 

RATES: $18 Per Student, No Charge for Teacher(s) – Requires a $275 Minimum – $5 Per Adult Chaperone (Limit 1 Adult Chaperone Per Class)

DESCRIPTION: Students benefit from combining two separate 2-hour programs that include classroom presentations and Elachee Nature Science Center and hikes in the Chicopee Woods Nature Preserve.

Great for summer or after school group excursions.

RATES: $8 Per Student, No Charge for Teacher(s) – Requires a $100 Minimum – $5 Per Adult Chaperone (Limit 1 Adult Chaperone Per Class)

DESCRIPTION: Stretch your legs and minds with an interpretive hike in the Chicopee Woods Nature Preserve, or choose a classroom program at Elachee Nature Science Center.

Lake Lanier Aquatic Studies

Two (2) Program Options at the Lake Lanier Aquatic Learning Center (LLALC)

Students climb aboard the LLALC floating classroom, Chota Princess II, for a hands-on exploration of Lake Sidney Lanier.

  • 2-Hour LLALC Program RATES: $16 Per Student, No Charge for Teacher(s) – Requires a $320 Minimum – $5 Per Adult Chaperone (Limited to 1 Adult Chaperone Per Class)
  • 3-Hour LLALC Program RATES: $20 Per Student, No Charge for Teacher(s) – Requires a $400 Minimum – $5 Per Adult Chaperone (Limited to 1 Adult Chaperone Per Class)

PROGRAM PARTNERSHIP: Elachee Nature Science Center conducts the LLALC program in partnership with Chattahoochee Riverkeeper and the Hall County Parks and Leisure Services.

PROGRAM ASSISTANCE: Title I schools are eligible for financial aid consideration for the LLALC program, courtesy of Elachee’s program partner Chattahoochee River Keeper. Call Elachee for details, 770-535-1976.

2-Part Program – Custom Outreach and Lake Lanier Aquatic Studies

Elachee combines a custom-designed Outreach Program with a 3-hour Lake Lanier Aquatic Studies* program and cruise aboard the LLALC floating classroom, Chota Princess II.

RATES: $22 Per Student, No Charge for Teacher(s)  Requires a $440 Minimum – $5 Per Adult Chaperone (Limit 1 Adult Chaperone Per Class)

PROGRAM LOCATION: Chicopee Lake, 2100 Calvary Church Road, Gainesville, GA 30507

Situated across the Chicopee Woods Nature Preserve from Elachee Nature Science Center, access to Chicopee Lake requires a 2.5 mile hike from the Visitor Center through the Nature Preserve or a 10-minute drive around its perimeter.

  • DAY RATES: $150 per 1-Hour Program
    (2 Program Minimum), plus $0.65 per round-trip mile
  • EVENING RATES: $200 per 1-Hour Program
    (2 Program Minimum), plus $0.65 per round-trip mile

Elachee has packaged a selection of its most popular classes, presented as a combined video program and live virtual interaction with an Elachee instructor.

Cancellation Policy

  • Weather: All programs take place rain or shine. Elachee plans alternative curriculum in the event of inclement weather.
  • Reschedule/Cancel: You may reschedule your program (if space is available) or cancel up to four (4) weeks before your originally confirmed date without penalty.
  • Late Cancellation Fee: Elachee will charge 50 percent (50%) of the scheduled program fee for cancellations without at least a four-week notice.
