Why Nature Preschool?

Having access to nature at an early age instills a sense of confidence that, in turn, helps young children solve problems without as much parent intervention.

On average, today’s children ages 3 to 13 spend only one-percent of their time outdoors, yet interacting with electronic media consumes 27-percent of their awake hours! To improve a child’s physical and mental health, the American Academy of Pediatrics recommends children engage in 60 minutes of daily unstructured free play.

Let’s Go Outside! The Nature Preschool Difference

Elachee Nature Preschool students spend more than 50-percent of their school day outdoors! With a 1:6 teacher/student ratio, we provide educational experiences in the classroom and in outdoor settings to encourage their natural curiosity and help them gain respect for the natural world. ABOUT OUR PRESCHOOL

Children enrolled in the Nature Preschool receive instruction through the Creative Curriculum® model. In this nature school setting we emphasize purposeful and productive play experiences. This holistic approach promotes physical, social, emotional and intellectual growth for these young children. OUR PHILOSOPHY

“The children-and-nature movement is fueled by this fundamental idea: the child in nature is an endangered species, and the health of children and the health of the Earth are inseparable.” – Richard Louv, The Nature Principle
