Elachee Nature Science Center is pleased to host this monthly Science Night, on the square in Gainesville, to engage the community in environmental education and discussion. This program is best suited for adults.

Pre-Registration Required: Buffet opens at at 5:30 p.m. with the presentation/discussion taking place from 6:30-8 p.m. Registration details below.

November 12, 2019 Topic: Joro Spiders and Invasive Species

Guest presenter Dr. Mattias Johansson, biologist at University of North Georgia-Gainesville, will talk about invasive species with a focus on the relatively newly arrived Joro Spider and his research on the population dispersal, ecology and genetics of the Joro. Also read the UNG article, Biology Students and Faculty Member Research Joro Spiders.

PROGRAM FEE: $25 per person (fee covers buffet meal and science night program, however beverages not included). Elachee Members receive a $5 per person discount. Membership must be current for the date of program.
