April 2 Guided Backcountry Trail Hike

To introduce the hiking community to this trail, Elachee is offering a no-cost, one-way guided hike at 10 a.m., starting at Chicopee Lake. REGISTRATION ONLY: limited to 12 participants.

REGISTER FOR HIKE

You will hike (one way) with a guide, 4.22 miles along the new Chicopee Backcountry Trail. Hikers should be prepared to make the return hike to Chicopee Lake (4.22 miles along the Backcountry Trail or via the Bridge/Lake Loop, approximately 3 miles), or, have a vehicle parked at Elachee Nature Science Center.

This trail has moderate/difficult terrain and creek crossings, and is NOT recommended for novice hikers. Appropriate footwear and trekking poles are advised.

PLEASE NOTE: All vehicles entering and parking in the Chicopee Woods Conservation Area are subject to the Chicopee Woods Area Park Commission parking fee. Daily parking fee is $5 per vehicle or $10 for 15-passenger vans and buses.
