August 22, 2016 (Gainesville, Ga.) – Elachee Nature Science Center invites the public to see live reptiles at Snake Day 2016 on Saturday, September 10, from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. This family-friendly festival features regional herpetology experts who will engage audiences in demonstrations and workshops showcasing native and exotic species of snakes, lizards, turtles, tortoises, toads and frogs.

Snake Day 2016 takes place on Elachee’s main campus at 2125 Elachee Drive in Gainesville (off Atlanta Highway, near the Chicopee Woods Golf Course). Admission is $5 per person. Elachee members and children under 2 years get in free. Complementary shuttles will run from all parking areas.
At this action packed festival you can touch a snake, enjoy reptile programs, participate in live animal demonstrations, take guided hikes in the Chicopee Woods Nature Preserve, visit Elachee’s live animal exhibits, make cool reptile-related crafts, get your face painted, eat yummy food from local vendors and more. Shop in Elachee’s Nature Shop for a souvenir, where you can also snag a Snake Day t-shirt for everyone in the family. Elachee members receive a discount on all purchases!

Unplug and get outside at Elachee Nature Science Center. Elachee’s pristine hiking trail system through the Chicopee Woods Nature Preserve is open to the public year-round from 7 a.m. to dusk.
