Pre-K Summer Day Camps


Camp Elachee’s Pre-K Summer Day Camp is for children ages 3, 4, and 5 who are not entering kindergarten in the fall. All campers must be fully toilet trained.

Pre-K Summer Camp Overview

Camp Elachee 2018 offers nine weekly Pre-K camps, from May 29 to July 27, 2018.

Campers enjoy an age-appropriate condensed version of each week’s themed activities along with mini-hikes and visiting creeks, songs, creative play and movement, story time, crafts and special visits from Elachee staff.

Pre-K Camp Hours: Monday-Friday, 8:30 a.m. to Noon (*extended hours for 4-day camps)

Pre-K Camp Fees: $155 per child, per camp week

  • Elachee members receive a $20 discount per child, per camp week.
  • Pre-registration is required. Spaces are filled on a first-come basis.

After Camp Child Care: Optional extended care is $60 per camper, per camp week. Available daily from Noon to 2 p.m.*, this supervised Pre-K child care is a convenient option for working parents.

Camp Elachee 2018: Pre-K Camp Weekly Themes 

May 29–June 1: Water Week* 

*Extended hours, 4-day camp, from 8:30 a.m.–1 p.m. 
Campers will explore Elachee’s waterways and aquatic life, learning about aquatic environment, water quality and water properties.
NOTE: Optional after camp care hours are 1-3 p.m. this week.

June 4–8: Habitat Haven

Campers will become acquainted with habitats of Earth and the environments where animals live, then participate in a mini-polar plunge, jungle themed games, and other activities.

June 11–15: Sense of Wonder

Campers will develop their five senses through hands-on creative discovery in Chicopee Woods while learning how other species use their senses. 

June 18–22: Elachee Explorers

Campers will discover their inner adventurer by learning about historical explorers’ journeys with treasure hunts, gem panning and other outdoor exploration activities. 

June 25–29: Wet and Wild

Campers will experience a week of water fun, including an International Mud Day celebration and the always enjoyable Camp Elachee Water Olympics.

July 2–6: Space Week*

*Extended hours, 4-day camp, from 8:30 a.m.–1 p.m. July 2, 3, 5 and 6. 
Campers will venture into the Starlab planetarium, experience Elachee’s ‘cave,’ and learn about the solar system and astronomy.
NOTE: Optional after camp care hours are 1-3 p.m. this week.

July 9–13: Mad Science Mayhem

Campers will create and perform their own experiments featuring chemical reactions and physics to help them explore the natural world around them.

July 16–20: Creature Feature

Campers will gain knowledge of animals and their habitats from across the world and their own backyard, with a special ‘back in time’ adventure to visit the dinosaurs.

July 23–27: Camp Rewind
