Elementary Summer Day Camps
Camp Elachee’s Elementary Summer Day Camp is for children entering Kindergarten through 5th grade in the fall.
Elementary Summer Camp Overview
Camp Elachee 2018 offers nine weekly elementary camps, May 29 to July 27, 2018.
Campers get the full camp experience with creek wading and walks, woodland hikes, nature study, silly camp songs, crafts, games, visits from Elachee naturalists and special guest presenters. Camp activities may vary due to group age, group interest and weather conditions.
Elementary Camp Hours: Monday-Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. (*extended hours for 4-day camps)
Elementary Camp Fees: $165 per child, per camp week
- Elachee members receive a $20 per child per camp week discount.
- Pre-registration is required. Spaces are filled on a first-come basis.
After Camp Child Care: Optional extended care is $60 per camper, per camp week. Offered daily from 2–5:15 p.m., this supervised child care is a convenient option for working parents.
Camp Elachee 2018: Elementary Camp Weekly Themes
May 29–June 1: Water Week*
*Extended hours, 4-day camp, from 8:30 a.m.–3 p.m.
Campers will explore Elachee’s waterways and aquatic life, learning about aquatic environment, water quality and water properties.
June 4–8: Habitat Haven
Campers will become acquainted with habitats of Earth and the environments where animals live, then participate in a mini-polar plunge, jungle themed games, and other activities.
June 11–15: Wilderness Survival
During this “SURVIVOR”-themed week campers and their ‘tribe’ learn skills such as plant identification, building shelters and team building.
June 18–22: Elachee Explorers
Campers will discover their inner adventurer by learning about historical explorers’ journeys with treasure hunts, gem panning and other outdoor exploration activities.
June 25–29: Wet and Wild
Campers will experience an awesome week of water fun, including an International Mud Day celebration and Water Olympics, with Messy Olympics rounding out the week!
July 2–6: Space Week*
*Extended hours, 4-day camp, from 8:30 a.m.–3 p.m., July 2, 3, 5 and 6.
Campers will venture into the Starlab planetarium, experience Elachee’s ‘cave,’ and learn about the solar system and astronomy.
July 9–13: Mad Science Mayhem
Campers will create and perform their own experiments featuring chemical reactions and physics to help them explore the natural world around them.
July 16–20: Creature Feature
Campers will master their knowledge of animals and their habitats from across the world and their own backyard, with a special ‘back in time’ adventure to visit the dinosaurs.
July 23–27: Camp Rewind
