Trillium Trek Trail Run- Rules & F A Q

  • The Trillium Trek is a fundraising event for Elachee Nature Science Center.

  • Registrations after March 6th are not guaranteed a t-shirt or correct size on race day

  • Race Fees Until March 6th: 5K $25, 10K $30, 1/2 Marathon $40
    Race Fees March 7th - 22nd: 5K $30, 10K $35, 1/2 Marathon $45

  • Packet Pick Up & Last Day Registration March 22nd at Runners Fit 10am-7pm

  • Race Day Registration ($5 additional fee) & Packet Pick Up 7:00-8:00am

  • The Race begins at 8:00 am with the Kid's Fun Run followed by the other races at 8:30am
  • Alternative Date: If we must cancel the race we will run the race the following day, Sunday, March 24th. Check website for updates; email will be sent to registered racers as soon as the decision is made. Please note: the race will not be cancelled due to rain unless there is a risk to the racers from high winds or lightning.

  • Maximum time allowed: Timing for the race will end at 4 hours. The course will close 5 hours after the start of the race.

  • Medals will be given for the top 3 male/female finishers in each race for 3 categories: Overall, Masters, Grand Masters.

  • No dogs allowed on trails during the race

  • No strollers allowed on trails

  • Racers must stay on designated trails

  • Limited to a total of 400 racers combined (all three categories)


Will the route be marked?

Each race route will be marked with directional arrows at all intersections. Volunteers will be posted in potentially confusing areas.

Will there be water on the route?

There will be only 4 Water Stops:

  • Start/Finish Line
  • Dunlap Trail Junction with East Lake Trail (5k 1.5 miles, 10k & 1/2 Marathon 4 miles)
  • Chicopee Lake Aquatic Studies Center (10K & 1/2 Marathon 2.5 miles)
  • Dunlap Trail Junction with West Lake Trail near Overflow Parking (1/2 Marathon 6.5 miles )

10K & 1/2 Marathon Racers please carry enough water for the longer stretches between water stops.

Will refreshments be provided?

Fruit, bagels, and drinks will be provided at the finish line.

What is the Kid's Fun Run?

The Kid's Fun Run will begin at 8:00am

Children 3-6 years old

  • Will run a short course near the buildings in sight of parents and volunteers
  • All entrants will receive a prize
  • Medals will be awarded for 1st, 2nd, & 3rd place finishers

What is the raffle for?

The race raffle offers racers the chance to win some great prizes donated by our sponsors. Additional tickets will be available for purchase. All proceeds from the race & raffle benefit Elachee's mission of education and conservation.

What is the Trail Runner Trophy Series?

The Trillium Trek is part of the 2013 Trail Runner Trophy Series.
The Series is a points-based series of trail races in the United States and Canada. All events are divided into two categories: Non-marathon (races less than 26 miles) and Marathon & Longer (26 miles and longer) distances. All races take place between March 1 and September 30, 2013.
