See 25 native Georgia reptile and amphibian species in curated habitats. Observe a non-releasable Great Horned Owl and enjoy his antics in person or online. Note: A Naturalist is on-site Saturdays to facilitate live animal encounters.

Dodd Loop Self-Guided Trail
Interpretive signage informs your 0.64-mile hike among diverse forest and topography.
Outdoor Playspaces
Creation Station: find chalkboard, giant games, a kitchen and other toys in the service drive pavilion.
Fortlandia: build forts and structures with sticks along the trail accessed from the Wonderwall.
Healthy Hollow: visit the group picnic area to enjoy tunnels, balance beams and logs.
Ecology Exhibits
Study plants, identify tree species and view vibrant murals of winged Georgia pollinators.
Bring Lunch
Enjoy our picnic area, the Nature Center patio or reading platform. Pack it in and pack it out.

Note: Minimum enrollment requirement is 12 participants, ages 16* and older. Enrollment is limited to 25 participants. (*Minors be accompanied by an adult also a registered participant in this course.)
Explore local habitats and ecosystems in this interactive 12-program series (48 Course Hours). Participants interact with and ask questions of experts in various fields of Georgia ecology, as well as develop new relationships with peers who share the same interests.
This in-person course is tailored for the local environment within the framework of the Georgia Master Naturalist course developed by The University of Georgia Warnell School of Forestry and Natural Resources.
Each session combines lecture and field study segments. Areas of discovery will include: Birds/Birding, Tree Identification/Ecology, Georgia Fisheries, Stream Ecology, Native Plants and Conservation, Geology, Native Georgia Wildlife, Reptiles/Amphibians, and MORE! 2024 Course Schedule
