19th Annual Great Backyard Bird Count is February 17-19, 2017

Elachee will host a great morning of winter birding in the Chicopee Woods, one of Georgia's Important Bird Areas (IBA). Join us as we search for ducks, herons, hawks, woodpeckers, sparrows and other species as part of the 19th annual Great Backyard Bird Count. This is a great opportunity for families, birders and nature lovers to participate in a fun activity in a beautiful setting and while contributing to an important annual “citizen-science” event.

Independent Bird Counts

If you cannot join us for the Elachee birding hike, you may still participate as a citizen scientist and independently submit your bird counts from February 17-19 to the Great Backyard Bird Count web site. VISIT NOW

Simply count the birds you find in your backyard, schoolyard, neighborhood or favorite greenspace and then submit your data.
