Highlights of the Day Include:
VenSnake

Live Reptiles.
Snakes, snakes,
snakes, lizards, turtles, frogs, big reptiles, snakes, and more snakes. Get a close-up view of many kinds of native and exotic snakes including venemous varieties brought by our experienced exhibitors. Get to see these interesting creatures close up in a safe environment. We're looking forward to seeing a reticulated python, red-tailed boa, cottonmouth, rattlesnakes, and alligator in addition to our native friendly species of snakes.

SnakeFace

Face Painting.
Have your face, hand or arm adorned with a snake or reptile by one of our staff at the face painting station. Children love to show off their unique decorations while enjoying the other activities.

Tot&Snake

Touch a Snake.
Experience actually touching a snake - they may not be as scary as you think. Most are not harmful to humans and help us in many ways. Those successful participants will receive a certificate of bravery.

DoddHike

Guided Hikes.
We'll be taking small groups into the woods for a short tour to look for signs of critters and reptiles found along the way.

GopherBoy

Other critters.
Expect to see other reptiles and amphibians like frogs and toads, turtles and tortoises, lizards, and some big reptiles from Georgia and around the world.

Special Programs.

Vanishing Reptiles of Georgia with John Jensen, Georgia State Herpetologist.
This special program for adults and older children will investigate our state species that are currently in danger of becoming extinct.

Dry Scales and Slimy Skin. For children of all ages! Our expert naturalist staff will present a fun program exploring the characteristics of reptiles and amphibians at a level that can be understood by children and novices alike.

Adults: $5, Children 2-12: $3,
Elachee Members and under age 2: FREE.

Come early and carpool if possible as this is an extemely popular event!
Pizza and soft drinks will be available for purchase.

Proceeds will fund Elachee's eduction programs and conservation efforts in the Preserve.
